At the Website Settings dashboard, the admin controls a number of options, including the following:
- Registration text
- 404 Error page
- Header javascript code
- Footer javascript code
- Promote to Homepage publishing location.
Adding a Page
yoursite.com/addcontent
To insert a page, visit yoursite.com/addcontent and choose Page as the content type.
Or, from the black toolbar, choose Content > Post Content. Choose Page as the content type.
Main Content Section:
- Page Title - required.
- Tags. Optional method for taxonomy / ordering system for the website content. A comma-separated list of terms describing this content.
- Body. Insert the content of the page in the Body field using the Text Editor.
Additional Features:
- Advanced Visibility Options. Control who sees this page - registered visitors, groups, or all visitors.
- Advanced Options. Click to access the Advanced SEO control. You can add additional metatags and keywords or specify an additional Page Title.
- Menu Options. Create a link to the new page in the Menu Options section. This link will appear n the top navigation bar (also called a menu) or can be set as a drop-down menu item by changing its parent item to an existing menu link.
- Promote to Home. Advertise the new page to your home page. This will create a teaser on the home page linking back to the new page.
- Custom URL Settings. Create an optional custom URL for the page. Do not use spaces or uppercase.
- File Attachments. Files can be easily attached to the page here. They will not be listed in the File Manager, however. If you want more control of the file, such as linking to it from multiple pages, you should upload to the File Manager. However, the File Attachments feature does offer a quick method for attaching several files.
Adding a Blog
yoursite.com/addcontent
To insert a blog, visit yoursite.com/addcontent and choose Blog as the content type. Or, from the black toolbar, choose Content > Post Content. Choose Blog as the content type. Blog entries are collected on the /blogs page.

Content Blocks
yoursite.com/manage_blocks
You can create blocks of content and control which pages for these blocks to appear. Visit yoursite.com/manage_blocks to add new blocks or manage existing blocks. On the Manage Blocks (/manage_blocks) page, you can control the following:
- Enabled or Disabled Status. Click the checkmark to turn the block on or off.
- Block Title. The title displays above the block's content on the website. You can omit the block title by deleting its text, and the title will not display.
- Block Region. Control which where on a page your block appears, e.g. left sidebar, footer, etc.
- Priority. Move your block up or down in the sidebar in relation to other blocks using the priority numbering system.
- Edit button. Click to manage the block's contents or to delete the block.
Within a block's Edit Block page, you can specify the following:
- Block Name. This is required for the system but will not be displayed on the website.
- Block Title. The title displays above the block's content on the website. You can omit the block title by deleting its text, and the title will not display.
- Block Content. Use the text editor to create the content of your block.
- Block Region. Control which where on a page your block appears, e.g. left sidebar, footer, etc.
- Visibility Restrictions by Member. Control who sees the block, be it registered members or ever visitor
- Visibility Restrictions by Page. Control which pages the block should appear on or which pages should exclude the block.
- Save Button. Always click Save to preserve all changes.
- Delete this Block link is below the Save button. This can not be undone.
Using the Text Editor
The text editor is available within Edit Page mode. It offers many of the standard options you experience with word processing applications, such as font control, images, bullets, tables, etc. HTML source can be accessed via the Source button.

Images
View our tutorial on managing images here. Images can be added to any page.
Videos
Videos can be added to any page.
- Click "Edit" button to edit the page.
- Click Source button (to view HTML)
- Add the embed code (from YouTube, for example)
- Optional: If you want to add a description below the video, hit the Source button again. You'll see a white box that says iFrame. Below that, enter your description.
- Save the page.
- If you don't see the video, refresh the page and it should appear.
Website Logo, Title and Footer
yoursite.com/websiteinfo
From the black toolbar, choose Content > Title, Logo, Footer. Or, visit yoursite.com/websiteinfo to manage the following:
- Website Title
- Website Tagline
- Logo
- Favicon
- Footer
Website Theme
yoursite.com/selecttheme
Control which theme your website displays here. Custom CSS that has been added under a previous theme will need to be transferred to any new theme.
Adding CSS Styles
yoursite.com/customcss
Custom CSS styles can be added to your website here. Graphic designers write CSS styles to customize and override existing styles. If you do not have knowledge of CSS you can hire a graphic designer fluent in CSS to add styles, or you may hire us to create custom CSS for your site.
Manage Content
yoursite.com/manage_content
You can view and manage the content of your website on this dashboard. The Manage Content dashboard displays content by creation date. It specifies content type, author, and provides a lnk to edit the page.
Manage Users
yoursite.com/dashboard
View and manage the users of your website at this dashboard.
Manage Groups
yoursite.com/managegroups
Create custom groups for your website here. You can provide these groups with access to restricted sections of your website.
Website Comments
On the Content Settings dashboard, the website admin can control users' ability to post comments and other kinds of posts such as images, videos, and events can be published automatically or moved to a queue for the website admin to approve.

On the Manage Comments dashboard, the website admin can manage existing comments.

Moderation Settings

The Moderation Settings dashboard allows the admin to do the following:
- Set the website membership access. Options include: Open, Invite Only, Moderated, or Closed.
- Decide how you approve member-generated content on your site. This pertains to user-generated items such as images, blogs, videos, and events.
- Designate existing site members as website administrators
Website Custom Domain Name
Contact us to point a custom url to your website. Custom urls may be purchased through us or through another provider.
Private Label Your Website
To hide all references to Openhill, contact us to private label your website.

Link a Document or Image
In addition to linking to files already uploaded to the File Manager, you can also create a hyperlink to a new document or image from our text editor. Upload and link in one fell swoop.
To link to a file already uploaded to the File Manager:

Type some text to link to your file, and highlight the text.

Then click the hyperlink icon. It looks like this:

Click the "Browse Server" button
and navigate to the target file. Then click the Okay button to submit. Your highlighted text will be linked to the file.
To link to a new file not already uploaded to the File Manager:

Type some text to link to your file, and highlight the text.

Then click the hyperlink icon. It looks like this:

Click the upload tab.

- You will be able to upload a new file to the File Manager with the Choose File button.
- Select Send to Server.
- The file link will autopopulate with the link.
- Once you click "Send it to the Server", your highlighted text will be linked to the file.
